Liebster Award

As most of you know, we're pretty new to blogging. Recently, we were contacted by the absolutely lovely Brittany Gary . She so graciously informed us that she has nominated us for a Liebster Award. How exciting!!!! We can't thank you enough, Brittany! You have been so supportive of us.

So without further ado.....

Here are the rules of the Liebster Award:

Questions for me from Brittany Gary:

1. What´s your latest beauty/fashion purchase?
I recently made a few purchases that I loved so much, I decided to do giveaways with them. *Will be on the blog a little later* I don't want to give the surprises away by naming them specifically but they do include an amazing hair mask and a true European BB Cream.

2Are you saver or spender?
haha Well, it totally depends. I am a saver however, I don't mind spending a little more for something of better quality. Ultimately, it's an investment that will save me more in the future. I always look at where my money goes as an investment. If I don't find it to be an investment, I won't buy.

3. What´s your favorite Boutique?
Oh there are so many I adore. In my area, there's a small town that has the most adorable boutiques. They're quaint and carefully curated. For a store that everyone can visit because of their website, I adore The Vintage Contessa . She carefully curates all of her finds and ladies let me tell you: they're amazing finds! I happen to know that she travels the world to bring the very best in couture handbags. While you're there, make sure to check out her blog: Vintage Contessa Blog

4.  Name your celebrity crush.
Is it cliche to say Bradley Cooper? That man is so lovely to look at.

5.Describe your fashion Style.
I would describe my style as classic. I love a well fitting wardrobe. I'm a lover of all colors in my wardrobe. I'm not one to be too basic (tans, whites, navy).

6. What are two things you like about yourself?
I love that I tell it like it is. I'm open and honest with everyone. You'll never question where you stand with me. Physically, I'm a fan of my eyes and smile.

7. What would be your dream job?
Besides what I am currently doing, I'd love to be a helicopter pilot. I've always wanted to take flying lessons.

8. What is the first thing to do on your bucket list?
Travel to France.

9. What is inside your purse?
Thank heavens I just cleaned my purse this weekend because I had so many random things in there. Now it's more streamlined.  I have inside of my Kate Spade handbag: My GRF Monogram waffle makeup bag (has the awesome giveaway BB Cream in it, a blush, mascara & lipstick.) My absolute favorite handcream of all time: Soap & Glory Handfood. OMG Ladies, get a bottle! The scent smells so clean and the formula is non-greasy. My BurtsBees lip balm in Honeysuckle & Pink Passion (not shown) and my favorite powder from Bobbi Brown. Last but not least, a little box of bobbi pins.

10. How did you get in to blogging?
I got started by reading all of our customers blogs. I really enjoyed seeing the way they style their outfits, all the best hauls and all the fun makeup blogs.

11. Name one of your Summer Plans.
I am hoping to take a train trip with my husband to visit his family in the NorthEast.

My Nominees Are:

Well this was fun. I hope I didn't bore you all too much haha. Stay tuned this week for my giveway blogs. We are fast approaching giveway time!!!!

Sure to be a Southern staple....

Well, summer hasn't officially started but it sure feels like summer down here in Texas! Sure, we can just drink plain, 'ol water but does that really quench your thirst when it's nearly 100F? Not for this gal.

I have my favorite drinks, sure. Cucumber water, fruit infused water, Big Red or Dr. Pepper (I rarely indulge these days). Tonight, I had a real desire for some lemonade. I have a real taste (or obsession, your choice) with citrus anything. So, I made my Watermelon Lemonade. It was the perfect night. Although muggy and hot, it still had a cool breeze once evening came. What better time to make my lemonade?

I would like to share with you my recipe for homemade Watermelon-Lemonade. Of course, tweak it to suit you. I tend to lower the sugar amounts that this recipe calls for because I don't like my lemonades too sugary.

Glamorously Refined Fun Boutique's Watermelon-Lemonade

4 cups of cubed or chopped watermelon
6 cups of water
1 separate cup of water
1 cup of regular table sugar
1/4 tsp of salt
2 cups of lemon juice *about 8 lemons*

Bring 6 cups of water, 1 cup of sugar and 1/4 tsp of salt to a boil over high heat, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat, cover and let stand for 10 minutes. This will make your syrup. *Please note, it will just look like plain water and it won't thicken*

Puree in a blender 4 cups of chopped/cubed watermelon with 1 cup of water.

Prep your pitcher. With your strainer, pour in your watermelon puree. Then add your syrup through your strainer as well. Give it a good stir. Add in your lemon juice. Stir Stir Stir.

Pour over some ice, garnish with a watermelon wedge and enjoy your drink.

This recipe makes approximately 12 servings.

I like to change up the fruit in my lemonade at times. You can follow the same recipe using cucumbers, strawberries, raspberries, etc.

Also, I can imagine that this recipe could be yummy with alcohol. I don't drink though, so I couldn't tell you what alcohols would go great  with this. If you try this recipe with some, please come on back and share your recipe with us. We'd love to know.

Hope you ladies enjoy this drink. Let us know down bellow if you try it or add to it.

Happy sipping lovelies!

Oh, Hello!

We could not be more excited to finally launch our blog!!!! We are so happy to finally have a place to talk with you all and get to know you all better.  As our first blog post, we feel we should use the time to introduce GRF to all of you.

Many of you know us from Instagram and/or Facebook. As you know, neither platform really gives ample opportunity to get to know one another. Sure, through photos we might get a general idea about someone but it's not the same.

So before we ramble on.....

Glamorously Refined Fun Boutique was started January 2014. That's right, we're still in our infancy. There has been a lot of growth in a very short amount of time. Obviously we are thrilled!!!! And we could not have done it without you, ladies!

It has been such an experience getting to know you and meeting many more ladies daily. We are in awe of each of you. All of you are so different in so many amazing ways. From college students to cheerleaders to entrepreneurs and business women to teachers and to the mama's of the most gorgeous kiddos! Truly all of you inspire us daily!

The boutique was started because our owner felt there was something missing in the market. True, alot of the online boutiques carry a lot of similar if not exact items. What our owner has set out to accomplish different from competitors is a wonderful family from ours to yours. We had wrap each order, customers will always talk to someone here (never automated, never a call center), handwritten notes in every package sent, emails sent to customers to make sure they're 100% satisfied withtheir order, words of encouragement through social media to our customers & followers (whom we prefer to call our friends & family). We will always strive to be different where it matters: customer satisfaction & the ability to always be accessible.

We are always looking for the best quality of clothing and accessories while keeping our prices low. Fashion doesn't have to break the bank. We know that money won't buy class either. Which is why we always love reading our friends & family's blogs. Always let us know if you are blogging; we love reading all of them!

Speaking of blogs: we really would love to have some guest bloggers on our blog!!! So, please feel free to reach out to us anytime.

Well, this first blog post has become lengthy but we hope that you have come to know us better. Hopefully, we can get to know you better too!

Stay Glamorous. Stay Refined. Have Fun!
